The Fishermen track team reeled in the Vikings at their meet on Thursday with score of the score of 125-8 for the girls team, and 108-27 for the boys, and only lost narrowly to Masco by 25 points.
Grace Castellucci scored the most points for the girls team, winning the 100m in 12.9 sec and the 200m in 27.3sec against both Winthrop and Masconomet, and 2nd in the long jump. Hope Castellucci took 2nd in the 800m, and was a part of the girls’ 4×400 that took first overall. Freshman Carla Kasera also had a good day, taking 1st in the long jump, 3rd in the 100m, and was a part of the 4×400 relay team that took 1st.
Gabe Pate was the top scorer on the boys’ side, taking 2nd in the 100m and long jump, along with being a part of the 4×100 team that took 2nd. Gus Hall took 2nd in the mile with a blazing fast time of 4:44; along with him, teammate Deion Kasera took 3rd. Also taking the 2nd and 3rd place finishes were Isaiah Nicastro and Lyall Cunningham in the 2-mile.
The team competes on Tuesday, April 14th, vs. Beverly and Marblehead at Beverly High School.
