The Fisherman had an outstanding day last Friday at the NEC’s track and field championship meet.
The girls’ team finished fourth overall with a score of 85 points.
Captain Grace Castellucci shone, scoring 15.5 of the total points, taking 2nd in the 200m with a new school record time of 26.12sec, taking down the previous record of 26.21sec, 3rd in the 100m (13.04sec), and was a part of the 4x100m relay team, which went All-Conference.
The All-Conference girls 4x100m relay team finished with a time of 51.49sec and consisted of G.Castellucci, Madison Goodhue, Tess Taylor, and Carla Kasera.
Other notable performances were C.Kasera (4th in 100m and 2nd in long jump), Taylor (4th in 100m hurdles, 3rd in triple jump), Cia Donohoe(6th in 400m hurdles), Madison Jewell (4th in 400m), Caroline Eliassen (5th in 400m), Hope Castellucci (6th in 800m), River Martin(5th in the one mile), Anna Sergi (6th in 2 mile), Jude Friday (6th in triple jump)
The girls’ 4×800 (Martin, H.Castellucci, Callie Arsunault, and Caitie Dewan) took 4th place, and the girls’ 4×400 (Jewell, Eliassen, Donohoe, and Violet St.Marie) finished 4th.
The boys finished 5th with 63 points.
On the boys’ side, Leonidas Cosentino was the top scorer. He finished 3rd in the triple jump with a personal best of 41’1 feet, 6th in long jump with another personal best of 20’3 feet, and was a part of the 4x100m.
The boys also had many successes throughout the night. Top finishes came from Jeferson do Carmo(5th in 400m and 3rd in 400m hurdles), who was closely followed in both events by teammate Vincent Mannone(6th in 400m and 4th in the 400m hurdles). Other placers included Deion Kasera (6th in 800m and 4th in triple jump), Gus Hall (5th in one mile), Lemi Marshall (5th in 2-mile), and Seamus Linehan (5th in the 100-meter hurdles).
The Fisherman next competes at the Division 4 state meet on Thursday at Bridgewater State University
