On Monday and Tuesday, the Fishermen traveled to Weston High School to compete at the Multi-Event Championship.
The Multi-Event Championship hosts the boys’ decathlon and the girls’ heptathlon. The girls compete in six events: long jump, 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, javelin, 200m, and the 800m. The boys compete in ten events: long jump, 400m, 100m, 110m hurdles, 1500m, high jump, discus, javelin, shot put, and triple jump.
Seamus Linehan, Jeferson do Carmo, and Vincent Mannone combined for first place with a score of 16,050, breaking the previous school record of 12925 for the team event.
Individually, Linehan placed third with a score of 5393 points. With that total, the junior standout broke the school record in that event. Mannone finished 17th, and Jeferson do Carmo finished 21st overall.
On the girls’ side, the team finished just outside of the top finishers in 8th place.
Individually, Tess Taylor finished 23rd, Cia Donohoe finished 37th, and Hope Castellucci finished 48th.
