The Gloucester Fishermen Wrestling Team dominated in an NEC matchup last night against Salem, beating the Witches 53-20.
Wins by point were secured by Aiden Bartholomew, Aiden Decoste, and Jackson Allen.
Big pins of the night were scored by Drew Rodolosi, Jayden Chadwick, Anthony Murawski, and Zachary Hashley.
Gloucester’s Toppan twins also got pins in their respective matches, ironically versing Salem’s Castillo twins duo.
To finish off the night, heavyweight Max Thomas ended his match with a pin on Salem in 17 seconds, the fastest pin of the night.
Additionally, the Gloucester Wrestling team added its newest member to the Coaching staff: Assistant Coach Geoff Thomas. Geoff has coached the Cape Ann Youth Wrestling team for 5 years and is thrilled to make his skills useful mat-side for the Gloucester Fishermen.
“It’s an honor to be associated with such a fast-growing program,” said Coach Thomas. “Seeing some of the Youth Wrestlers in their senior years after coming from the Cape Ann Youth Wrestling Program brings it all full circle.”
Gloucester travels to Brookline tomorrow to face the Brookline Duels, hoping to maintain their 2nd place standing in the NEC.
