The Gloucester field hockey team has secured its place in the Massachusetts State Tournament to compete to be the Northeast Conference champions.

On Saturday, the Fisherman tied the Peabody Tanners 2-2 with both goals scored by Chloe Flavin. The team was lead to victory by Flavin and her co-captains Kayla Nasser and Lily Sanfilippo. Assists were also made by Matilda Grow and Sam Cominelli.

Goalie Deyanna Foley had a great game and made a total of eight saves. This tie gave The Fisherman the point they needed to get into the tournament.

Monday night, The Fishermen crushed the  Revere Patriots with a 6-0 win.  Chloe Flavin, Rachel Alexander, Nicole Tocco, and Liana Hendershott each scored goals, and senior Kayla Nasser scored two goals.

The wins against Peabody and Revere give Gloucester a total of 22 points. Teams need at least 20 points to extend their season and compete in the state tournament. Gloucester with it’s record of 9-6-4 , has achieved just that. Their final game on Saturday gives field hockey the opportunity to improve their standings.
