September 17, 2019
GHS Cross Country team faced another loss to the Marblehead Magicians last week, but improved its overall score from last weeks race against Peabody.
Top three GHS runners, Harrison Pelosi, Maxwell Littman, and Nicholas Poulin had a strong start and kept with the front-running pack of about 25 racers.
Pelosi finished third overall with a time of 19:37. Littman finished fifteenth, clocking in a time of 19:50 and Poulin seventeenth with a time of 19:59. For the girls team, Lillie Favazza finished sixteenth at a time of 26:09.
Coach Austin Souza said this was a major improvement for the GHS team and he has high hopes for the upcoming race.
“Almost every person improved on their times,” said Souza. “We raced competitively and the training is starting to show a little. It’s still early and we will continue to improve.”
The Fishermen race again at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wednesday, September 18th, against the Salem Witches.
