The boys varsity basketball team is dominating the 2017-2018 season with a 6-5 record. Led by captains Matt Smith and Benjamin Oliver, the Fisherman are determined to make tournament.
According to Smith, the team’s record alone mirrors the chemistry that the team puts on the court every game.
“This year’s team works really well together as a unit,” said Smith. “Our focus is to work hard, make each other better, and most importantly, win games.”
The season has been eventful so far with two postponed games due to snow storms and a power outage at the Gloucester High School during one of their games. The team made up their snowed out game at Lynn English at 7:00 pm Thursday, January 25th and lost. They also look forward to playing in an upcoming game against Swampscott.
The Fisherman show strong confidence at home with their 5-1 record playing at the Benjamin A. Smith Field House. The next home game will be Tuesday, February 6th, 2018 against Revere, so come support the boys.
