During this time of year, there is a huge chance of there being a snow day, or two. You might not know what to do on an unplanned day without school, but lucky for you, there are plenty of things you can do on your day off.

 1. Have a movie day

There is nothing better than getting cozy on the couch without having any plans. Grab the fuzzy blankets and have a movie marathon. You can even binge on Disney or just watch your favorite TV series all day.

2. Play board games

Taking out the classic board games are a great way to keep yourself entertained. Games such as Scrabble and Monopoly are super fun to play with a group of people. Not only will this keep you and your family or friends busy for hours, it will also keep your brain active.

3. Get ahead with your school work

Although this is probably not what you want to be doing during your day off, it might be beneficial to get some work done. Most teachers will probably be more than happy to give you work ahead of time or some extra work for practice. It will help pass the time and you will not have to worry about getting your work done because it will already be done.

4. Hang out with friends

During the day off, get your squad together and head out to lunch or go for coffee. Spending time with friends is always a fun time, so if you have no other ideas on what to do, this could be your go to.

5. Take down your Christmas decorations

Most people have already taken down their holiday decorations after Christmas, but if you haven’t, it could be a good time to do so. Christmas is officially over, it’s time to get ready for the next holiday.

6. Make hot chocolate and cookies

On a cold day, nothing is better than drinking a warm mug of hot chocolate. To make it even more enjoyable, grab your favorite cookie dough and put the cookies in the oven. Soon you’ll be enjoying a tasty treat and a warm drink.

7. Play out in the snow

After it stops snowing, you can go out and build a snowman. As cheesy as it sounds, it is something entertaining that you don’t experience everyday. Make the most out of your time, it doesn’t come around very often.

8. Take your dog for a walk

Taking your dog out in the snow is not only a good idea, but it is hilarious. Your dog will probably be confused about what the snow is, which will make you want to stay outside for awhile while they discover something new.

Nature only spits on us once in a while so make sure to enjoy any snow day you get.
