As the fall sports season comes to an end and winter sports begin, the wrestling team is looking to be more successful than in past years.

Last year, the wrestling finished with a (9-9) record. Things are looking up as multiple new members joined the team this year.

“The team’s looking good this year,” said Junior Captain Ryan Argentino. “There’s a lot of new kids who are all working hard and have a lot of athletic ability. We’re looking to get everything together and hopefully we’ll be ready to go.”

“Practice has been going for a week and it’s been a lot of fun,” said first year wrestler Jack Bergin. “We’re a great team because we all take it seriously and work hard everyday.”

Along with Bergin, new wrestlers include Isaiah Castellucci, Daniel Sesam, Carlos Martinez, Jonathan Cortes, and Dolphi Santa.

The first meet took place on December 9th in Gloucester. It was considered a “super quad meet,” meaning three other teams came to wrestle in Gloucester. Gloucester beat Malden but then lost to both Lowell and Nahant.

Next home meet will be  on December 20 at 6:30. Come show your support.
