Have you seen the artwork displayed on the walls of the art wing and wondered what it was about?
Last Wednesday, the GHS Art Department held a visual arts show that was open to the public. It featured a variety of students’ photographs and artwork from the GHS art classes.
“Every student was represented in the art show,” said GHS photography teacher Emily Harney. “It was really successful, especially for our first one. Many people came.”
Although GHS will be participating in an upcoming city art show, many students could not wait until then to show off their work. Art teacher Lorrinda Cerrutti and photography teacher Emily Harney collaborated to put the show together.
The photography students got to help pick what pictures were on display. Each helped choose two to four photos from each semester they believed were their best.
Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken and Superintendent Richard Safier were among those who attended this event, along with parents, students, and other members of the public.
The city wide art show will be held on May 14 at the Sawyer Free Library.
