Upcoming dance will help students in need
March 3, 2016
On Friday, March 11 a black and white school dance will be held in support of Olivia Piscitello and Guilherme Spairani. The fundraiser dance will be held in the GHS cafeteria from 7pm until 9:30pm. All grades are invited to attend as well as any alumni under the age of 21.
Both Piscitello and Spairani have recently faced difficult medical challenges.
Interact club, who is hosting the dance, was originally just going to donate to the fund, but decided to host the dance ti increase the contributions. The class of 2016 and 2017 will also be hosting the dance.
The theme of the event is black and white and attendees are encouraged to wear a nice pair of jeans and a t-shirt.
The dance costs five dollars to get in, but senior Sabrina Maciel is hoping people will donate more.
“All proceeds will be split between Olivia and Guilherme,” said Maciel. “It’ll be a fun time if everyone comes out.”
Interact and student council members are currently trying to receive donations from the community in terms of pizza, drinks, and decorations.
Mr. Perreault, the adviser of Interact Club, will D.J. the dance for free. There will also be free games for people to play and they hope to get a karaoke machine.
Secretary of Interact Club Macaella Oliver is hoping that the dance also raises Olivia’s and Guilherme’s morale.
“It’s showing them that everyone is there for moral support too,” said Oliver. “It’s not just financial support.”
