Over the weekend, three relay teams (girls 4x100m, girls 4×200, and boys 110 shuttle hurdles) broke the school record.
On the girls’ side, the 4x100m relay team broke the school record by 0.7 seconds, clocking a blazing-fast time of 51.32 seconds and taking home 6th place. The team was comprised of Maddison Goodhue(12.6sec), Grace Castellucci(11.8sec), Tess Taylor(12.8sec), and Carla Kasera (13.5sec).
The other girl’s school record that was broken was the 4×200, which was demolished by almost three seconds with a time of 1:49.62, bringing home 5th place overall. The new record is held by Taylor(27.3sec), Cia Donohoe(28.1sec), Kasera(26.9sec), and G.Castellucci(26.1sec).
The boys’ team also had its moment to shine during the 4x110m hurdles. The school record is now set at 1:11.67, which took 4th place. The record is now held by Jacob Mclain(18.4sec), Vinny Mannone(18.4sec), Jeferson do Carmo(16.8sec), and Seamus Linehan(16.9sec).
The girls’ team scored 16 points and took home 15th place overall. Besides the 4×100 and 4×200, the girls’ team also placed in the distance medley relay(River Martin, Caroline Eliassen, Hope Castellucci, and Anna Sergi) took 7th, 4×1600 (Martin, Sergi, Callie Arsunault, and Caitie Dewan) took 6th, long jump (G.Castellucci, H.Castellucci, Kasera)took 6th, and the triple jump relay (Donohoe, Taylor, and Jude Friday)
The boys took 10th and scored 17points overall. Other than the 4x110m hurdles, they placed in the 4×100 (Mannone, Rowen Beers, Leo Cosentino, and Sam Mello) took 7th, the distance medley relay (Linehan, do Carmo, Lyall Cunningham, and Gus Hall) took 4th, and the boys 4x1600m (Lemi Marshall, and Isaiah Nicastro, Cunningham, and Hall) took 4th overall.
The team next competes on May 6 at Danvers High School vs Swampscott, where they will face off for the Lynch Division title.
