College and career fair at GHS
May 19, 2015
The College and Career Fair is an event for students to talk to people about their careers and life after college. The chamber of commerce is holding the event. The high schools that are apart of this event are Essex Tech, Rockport, Manchester-Essex, and Gloucester.
The event will take place on Wednesday, May 20th in the Gloucester Field House from 6:30-8:30 pm. More than seventy colleges will be attending the event to talk to students about their college and successful careers their students have pursued.
“I am extremely excited about this new opportunity for students to collaborate with colleges and businesses to gain a better understanding of opportunities that support their goals,” said Ms. Carlson, the head guidance counselor at GHS.
There will also be representatives that will talk about careers that do not require a college degree such as the armed forces. Fifty local businesses will want to form bonds with students and give them a chance to obtain an internship and future career with their business.
The LEAP program, which will be introduced next year will be at the resources table. They are collaborating with GHS to offer a free college success program.
The event will take place on Wednesday, May 20th in the Gloucester Field House from 6:30-8:30 pm. Students are encouraged to attend and bring their parents and guardians.
