This October, GHS will be running the Think Pink fundraiser in support of breast cancer awareness.
The fundraiser is led by French teacher Carol Finacey and Italian teacher Rayanne Menery-Sammataro. The fundraiser sells pink shirts and gives the money to students, faculty members, or people in the community who struggle with cancer.
“We have been doing this for 25 years, we sell pink shirts, and it helps people in the community, either students, parents, or teachers,” Finacey said. “I’m very happy that the students and teachers and faculty buy the Think Pink shirts to help people in the community.”
The fundraiser will happen throughout September and October, and during October everybody will wear their shirts and take a photo in the shape of a ribbon to be printed in the newspaper.
“It makes me feel like I’m a part of something that’s important to our community,” senior Ruby McElhenny said.
Shirts are on sale for 16 dollars in room 1211, so be sure to stop and buy a shirt before they run out.
