Last Friday, the girls’ lacrosse team played a tough game against the Danvers Falcons. The final score was 13-5.
The Falcons took the lead in the first quarter as the Fishermen failed to get a shot into the back of the net.
In the first play of the second quarter, Meadow Anderson won the ball and scored after a run to the net.
At the beginning of the second half, Skye Berry took the ball from the midfield to the goal to score. Not long after, Kaya Collins scored from a pass off of a pass from Meadow Anderson. Gloucester’s defense let in zero goals during this third.
In the middle of the third quarter, Meadow Anderson won the ball in the midfield, took it down the field, and scored. With two minutes left in the game, Skye Berry took the ball down their field off a draw and scored. Gloucester stayed strong through the game, but the Falcons came out on top.
The Fisherman’s goalie, Gabby Martell, made 24 saves and played an outstanding game. Natasha DePaula played great on defense, while Keagan Jewell had a good game offensively.
The Fishermen play again today against Swampscott at GHS at 4:30.
