It’s Valen-time to start looking for gifts for your loved ones, and what better way to shop than local?  Gloucester is home to several diverse small businesses who are ready to help with all your holiday needs.

The Bookstore of Gloucester

Would you still love your Valentine if they were a worm? How about a bookworm? If your loved one seems to always have their nose stuck in a book, why not get them another? The Bookstore of Gloucester sells a wide variety of novels from graphic to nonfiction, and the staff is friendly and always eager to help you choose a fitting option for your Valentine. For the hardcore book readers; you can grab a bookmark, a journal for our hardcore notetakers, and a Valentine’s card courtesy of the bookstore; wrap that up in a bow, add a cute little note and voilà! A perfect gift for your Valentine.

This store sells jewelry, clothes, cards, tarot cards, cosmetic bags, ring dishes, cups, and many more miscellaneous novelty gifts. Not to mention, Pop Gallery is stocked with adorable shopping bags that resemble popcorn bags, fitted with bright colors and a lovely Pop Gallery sticker– which could double as a fun display for any movie fanatic.

Maybe your Valentine is a spicy one, looking for chocolate that packs a little punch, Turtle Alley offers hot alternatives for a few of their chocolates.

Toodeloos!

Toodeloos may look like just a kid’s toy store on the outside, and maybe the inside, but there are several gifts available for all ages. It isn’t just a toy store, but an art supplier too! High quality paint is sold at the very back of the store at an affordable price, along with canvases to put that ink to good use. Otherwise; grab your love a stuffed animal of their favorite one! Stuffed bears are so last Valentine’s day, (and the one before that–) so pick up a jellyfish or giraffe! Toodeloos also delivers locally if needed, so you can give them a call if you’re tied up and in a pinch this Valentine’s day.
