How to slay your spring and summer
The Greasy Pole walk at St. Peter’s Fiesta 2022
May 17, 2023
Warm days have sprung upon us. Flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, and the weather is getting increasingly warmer. Need some help figuring out how to spend this beautiful season? I’ve got you covered.
Sports
Here at GHS, many spring sports include track, tennis, lacrosse, baseball, and softball. What better way to support your friends than by going to see them and watch their game or match? All of these sports take place outside in the warm spring air!
Take a walk
Walking is the most popular form of exercise in the U.S. Even if it’s just a short walk, most teens are on their phones, or some sort of technology or screen about 60 percent of their day. Take a walk around the neighborhood, walk your dog, and enjoy the fresh air and sunlight. You can even take your phone or a camera on the walk with you and take pictures!
Beach
Who doesn’t love a good beach day? The weather has been pretty nice out lately, so to avoid the big summer crowds at the beach, it would be a good idea to go in May! Dogs are no longer allowed on the beach so you won’t have to worry about that! Good Harbor and Wingaersheek are our most popular beaches, especially because they both have a beach concession building for food and beach necessities along with a building with public restrooms!
Fiesta
One of the most popular attractions to come to Gloucester! Happening June 21-25, the fun music, carnival rides, and events will be taking place right at St. Peters Square! Head on down to see who will take the flag at the greasy pole! Get lifted up to breathtaking heights on the Ferris wheel or the freak-out ride. Be sure to attend dory races, the St. Peter’s parade, and the Fiesta 5K!
These activities are good to know about in case you find yourself bored, having nothing else to do besides scrolling on Tiktok. Go outside and enjoy the warm weather while it lasts. Time will fly by and before you know it, school will be starting again and the cold weather will creep back upon us!
