Yesterday the Fishermen beat Medfield Warriors 2-1  to advance to the next round of the tournament. Their record is now 16-1-3, leading them to their next game; a part of the elite 8.

After a scoreless first quarter, Lily Pregent received a pass from Ari Scola that was inserted into the circle, giving her a direct shot on net.  For the second goal,  Lily Pregent  assisted Anna Cinelli after receiving a pass from Abby Lowthers.

The Fisherman dominated the first half, moving the ball up and into Medfield’s circle, allowing them to gain an advantage. Medfield had good passes, leaving the Fisherman having to read their plays, and figure out where the ball was going to end up.

The midfield led by Ella Costa, Ari Scola, Aria Caputo, Lexi Carollo, and Bella Goulart created a rock solid wall, making it even harder for the Warriors to break through. They were able to deliver strong passes and drive up the slide that allowed the offensive players to bring it up and into the circle.

Medfield had one breakaway in the beginning, being immediately crushed by the Fisherman Goalie, Keagan Jewell. The few balls that got past the Fisherman’s players were blocked and sent out terrifically to the offense by her.

After beating Medfield, No.14 in the Division, the Fisherman move into the Quarterfinals. Their next game is against No.6 the Newburyport Clippers. The game takes place at Newell Stadium at 2:00, most likely being their last home game as they’ll most likely advance into Semifinal.
