Nico Alves - Baseball

For the second year in a row, Nico Alves has been placed on the NEC All-Conference team. The sophomore has been awarded this honor in both years as a player, and both have been warranted.

Alves’ immense hitting prowess, paired with his masterful pitching, has made him a beast on the diamond. The pitcher/first baseman had 19 hits on the season, struck out 68 on the mound, and earned 6 wins out of the 7 games started.

Alves is on his way to being one of the best all-around players Gloucester Baseball has ever seen, thanks to the success he's maintained since his freshman year.

Giacomo Martell - Baseball

SAOTW Accolades: 1

POTW Accolades: 3

Giacomo Martell was named to the NEC All-Star team and was another significant figure in Gloucester’s powerful pitching rotation.

The hurler had 48 strikeouts with 5 wins and 1 save.

Offensively, he had 15 hits on the season.

The Senior Captain is committed to the Assumption University baseball team (Division 2) and looks forward to maintaining his momentum throughout his college career.

Nolan Aiello - Baseball

SAOTW Accolades: 3

Nolan Aiello rounded out GHS Baseball’s picks for the NEC All-Star team.

The second baseman was another player who performed strongly and led the team throughout the historic season.

He had 20 hits in 21 games played with 15 RBI’s.

Aiello played at an elite level throughout the season and will be a must-watch over the coming years.

Jaylen Severino - Baseball

POTW Accolades: 1

Junior captain Jaylen Severino was a key contributor for the Fishermen Baseball team this season.

The outfielder was a top performer in RBIs, tied for sixth place in the area with 18. He had a grand slam against Withrop in the Fishermen's blowout victory, as well as contributing to a walk-off win against Beverly.

The captain also had a team-high amount of steals on the basepaths.

Severino is set to cap off his momentous career next spring, where he'll return as captain for his senior season.

Lukas Albano - Baseball

Lukas Albano was named to the NEC All-Star team and played strongly in the field for the Fishermen at third base.

However, he really took his game to the next level at the plate. Albano had 22 hits and 10 RBI’s in 22 games played.

Entering his senior year, Albano will look to help lead his team to another successful season next year.

Jaeden Chipperini - Lacrosse

POTW Accolades: 2

Jaeden Chipperini was named to the NEC Lacrosse All-Star team after a strong season between the pipes.

Gloucester’s goalie played a major role throughout the season. The junior made 23 saves in a game against Bedford and 8 saves in a win against Somerville. He significantly contributed to Gloucester's win against Salem, making 16 saves.

Chipperini will look to return next year and continue to build on his success from this season.

Seamus Linehan - Track and Field

POTW Accolades: 1

Seamus Linehan was a key performer for the boys' outdoor track and field team. Despite having two sprained ankles halfway through the season, he made a quick recovery.

Linehan qualified for the Division 4 championship meet in triple jump, 400m hurdles, and the 4x400m relay. At the meet, he took a surprising 8th place overall in the 400m hurdles and 4x400m relay.

He was awarded the NEC All-Star award and subsequently received captaincy the following year.

Shane Widtfeldt - Tennis

Shane Widtfeldt was the star of the boys' tennis team, earning the only NEC award for the team.

He won 9 matches, including the one at the state tournament.

The freshman also earned a spot on the NEC All-Conference team.
