Cross Country update
September 23, 2019
Though the GHS Cross Country team lost to the Salem Witches last week, the girls ran some of their fastest times this season.
Lille Favazza finished second with a time of 24:13 and Kayla Pemimpede finished fourth with a time of 29:42,
Top runners Maxwell Littman (18:43), Harrison Pelosi (18:48), and Nicholas Poulin (19:02) had strong performances, and placed second, third and fifth.
Despite the boys score of 26-33, and the girls 15-50, Captain Cody Clifford said the team’s effort and training is starting to pay off.
“I think the team did great, since we were more evenly matched with Salem. The top group of runners ran very well and improved their times. Every practice there is a noticeable change in our performance and that change was profound today.” said Clifford.
The Fishermen next face off against the Winthrop Vikings at Stage Fort Park in Gloucester, Tuesday, September 22nd at 4:30 and look to keep improving.
