The Gloucester girls’ lacrosse team faced a tough loss against the Swampscott Big Blue. The score was 16-0, bringing the Fishermen’s record to 1-10.
Swampscott started strong by winning almost every draw. Gloucester started to win more draws after switching up the draw-takers. In the first half, the Fishermen didn’t have many opportunities at the net.
During the second half, Gloucester started to get more runs in the Swampscott half.
Gloucester’s goalie Gabriella Martell played a good game, limiting the damage the Big Blue could do to the score.
Gloucester’s Sophia Ferrara and Natasha DePaula played great games defensively, staying close to their marks.
“It was a tough game, but we still had fun,” Julia Palk said, “and we are excited for our games next week against Winthrop and Salem, which are winnable games.”
