The Gloucester Fisherman girls’ lacrosse team fell to the Masco Chieftains 12-2, dropping their record to 0-9.
Despite valiant efforts by the Fishermen, Masco overpowered them.
At halftime, Masco was up by 10. After having zero shots in the first half, Gloucester came out in the second half looking for the back of the net.
During the third quarter, Skye Berry scored after driving towards the net from the midfield.
In the fourth quarter, Keagan Jewell scored off a pass from Skye Berry.
By the end of the game, Gloucester had 8 shots and 15 ground balls. Gloucester’s goalie, Gabriella Martell, made 13 saves. Sophia Ferrara had a great game defensively.
When the final whistle was blown, the score was 12-2.
“It was a tough game,” Julia Palk said. “But we are excited for our game on Thursday [against Saugus] because it should be a well-matched game.”
