Looking to get involved in the GHS community? The Racial Equity and Advocacy Club may be just the place for you!
The Racial Equity and Advocacy Club is an organization for those interested in acknowledging and fixing social injustices and inequalities that students may see throughout the GHS community.
The club is also a combination of two GHS organizations, the Racial Equity and Inclusion Club and the Anti-defamation League World of Difference program.
The new club, led by student officers, offers a variety of roles including ones that involve being vocal in the community, as well as quieter roles such as researchers.
“This is a place where students get to vent about what they see everyday that they feel could be improved on,” Club advisor Alyssa D’Antonio. “This is also a place where you can see that things are being done and you can be a part of the changes that you want to see happen.”
The Racial Equity and Advocacy Club has multiple events lined up throughout the year, including the upcoming Indigenous Film Festival, ELL Celebration Night, and a spring Festival that will happen later this year.
The club plans to meet every other Wednesday during homeroom, as well as after school on certain days.
Those who have any questions or who are interested in joining can contact Ms. D’Antonio ([email protected]), Katie Knudsen ([email protected]), or Sage Lucas ([email protected]).
