The Fisherman move on to the next round of the MIAA Division III Tournament after beating their first round opponents, the Wilmington Wildcats.

The No. 3 Fishermen, beat No.30 Wildcats 4-1, starting the playoff season strong. There were two goals and one assist from Ella Costa, one goal and one assist from Ari Scola, and one goal from Lily Pregent.

The Fishermen had complete control over the ball, keeping it in Wilmington’s circle almost the entire game. Each player was on their best game, and were completely in sync with ball movement and communication.

Offense, midfield and defense worked together to bring the ball up, resulting in smart plays and clean goals from the Fisherman. Wilmington is a very strong defensive team, and the Fisherman responded with continuous shots on net.

I thought we did really well. We did a good job at moving the ball and communicating with each other, defensive starter Joie Cody said.

The Fisherman have been working hard all season long for the playoffs, and their hard work and determination is paying off.

Now with their record of 15-1-3, the girls move into the round of 16 on Wednesday, November 9th at home against #14 in the division, Medfield.  Game at 5:30.
