Softball
The Gloucester Fishermen softball team is primed for another deep run in the tournament this season after a phenomenal 2025 campaign. The squad went 18-5 last season, reaching the Division 3 Elite Eight before falling to eventual state champion Dighton-Rehoboth.
Sophomore ace Abby Noble is back for her sophomore season after finishing her freshman year with a 17-5 record and a 2.07 ERA. The Fishermen will again rely on her heavily in the circle, alongside sophomore Angela Russo and freshman Maya Curran.
Senior captains Emma Carrapichosa and Laila Ciaramitaro anchor the infield at first and third base respectively. Mackayla Allen returns at shortstop after a standout sophomore season while junior catcher Olivia Madruga and classmate Aleena Brown, who will handle catcher and designated player duties, give Gloucester experience behind the plate. Janelle Brancaleone is set to take over second-base duties to round out the infield, with sophomore Addy Amero slated to get action as well.
Freshman utility player Samantha Tucker is the youngest of the bunch, joined by Russo and Mia Rodolosi in the outfield.
Offensively, the squad boasts a strong lineup with a number of talents. Carrapichosa is coming off a five homerun campaign from last year, one of the highest totals in the NEC. Allen, Madruga, Brown, and Ciaramitaro provide strong power as well, in addition to their small-ball prowess.
Gloucester is coming off a season where they nearly knocked off the eventual state champs — the bar is set high, and this group has the talent to meet it. The Fishermen open their 2026 season on Friday, April 3 at Salem.

Girls' Lacrosse
The Gloucester Fishermen girls lacrosse team is still in the early stages of their rebuild, having gone 1-15 in each of the last two seasons. But with a strong senior captain group and a wave of promising underclassmen, there are signs of progress on the horizon.
Senior captains Keagan Jewell, Sofia Crivello, and Sophia Ferrara provide leadership both offensively and defensively. Jewell handles attack duties, while Crivello and Ferrara anchor the back end. Junior Natasha DePaula is a key piece on defense while junior Meadow Anderson and sophomore Fiona Black give Gloucester some athleticism in the midfield.
The freshmen class is particularly intriguing, with Claire Warde, Emma Krawczyk, and Alina O'Brien all expected to see meaningful time in the midfield. Gloucester opened with a 13-3 loss at Essex Tech on March 27, but will continue to work toward their goal of building a competitive NEC program.

Girls' Tennis
The Gloucester Fishermen girls tennis team finished 6-11 last spring, just missing a postseason berth they been searching for since pre-COVID times. Luckily for the squad, the core of the lineup returns with some promising underclassmen ready to fill in.
Senior captains Keira O'Brien and Esme Sarrouf lead the charge this season, who provided a number of strong performances last spring. Seniors Sabina Sappia and Ruby McElhenny add experience throughout the lineup, while sophomore Meghan Buckley and junior Ava Vidal give the Fishermen some youth and athleticism.
They open the season on Wednesday, April 1 at Lowell Catholic.

Girls' Track and Field
The girls’ spring track team is shaping up to be a powerhouse this season, bringing both depth and talent as they set their sights on a seventh consecutive NEC Lynch Division title.
Sisters Hope Castellucci and Grace Castellucci headline the team’s captain group, joined by Madison Jewell, Cia Donohue, and Georgana Cauthers. Together, they bring experience, leadership, and a strong competitive edge to the roster.
The team’s strength doesn’t stop there. Carla Kasara, Tess Taylor, and Anna Sergi are some of Gloucester's other prime athletes, all of whom are expected to make a significant impact in what promises to be a highly competitive season.
The squad have already started the season out strong with 2 wins against Danvers and Saugus. The squad is now set to face Masconomet and Winthrop on Thursday, April 9th.

Baseball
The Gloucester Fishermen baseball team is back and looking to build on one of the program's best seasons in recent memory. Last year's squad went 20-2 and claimed the NEC Championship after an undefeated campaign, but fell to Sandwich in the Round of 16.
After graduating two aces in Brayden Francis and Giacomo Martell, the Fishermen turn to junior star Nico Alves to step in as the Day 1 starter on the mound. Sophomore Pip Emerson, who had a strong JV campaign last spring, is also expected to garner plenty of starts out of the rotation. Brady Ciaramitaro is another arm to watch in the circle.
Captains Lukas Albano, Jaylen Severino, and Trey Marrone headline the Fishermen's veteran core. Nolan Aiello returns at second base, while Austin Bouchie will man the outfield with Severino and Camryn Rodolosi. Junior Cade Francis is set to take over at first base, with Mike Marino at third. Jude Szuter and Nash Marshall round out the infield and outfield mix.
The Fishermen squad has big shoes to fill coming up, but the team is hopeful they'll make another big impact in the NEC. Gloucester opens their 2026 campaign on Friday, April 3 against Salem.

Boys' Lacrosse
The Gloucester Fishermen boys lacrosse team is hoping 2026 is the year they claw back into the D3 playoff picture after another below .500 season last year.
Senior captain and goalkeeper Jaeden Chipperini anchors the defensive end heading into his third year as a starter. The defensive core is further bolstered by senior Joe Gucciardi, along with juniors Finn Schrafft, Connor Oliveira, and Tanner Smith. Junior attack Sam Sanfilippo returns as the team's leading scorer, and he's joined by fellow junior attackman Will Linn. Junior captain Finn Costa and junior Connor Mahoney give the Fishermen a reliable midfield presence, while sophomores Jackson Harnish and Anthony Sanfilippo look to step up.
Gloucester dropped their season opener 8-7 to Bishop Fenwick on March 30, but nearly pulled off the upset and have a tough Thursday matchup against Salem on deck.

Boys' Tennis
The Gloucester Fishermen boys tennis team is coming off a 9-11 season that ended with a Division 3 Round of 32 loss to Martha's Vineyard, and the pieces are in place for a stronger showing in 2026.
The lineup is young but talented, headlined by sophomore standout Shane Widtfeldt at first singles. Sophomore Trey Bushfield slides in at second singles, with captain Julian Nixon holding down third. In doubles, Henry Harrison, James Towne, Ethan Parisi, and Sam Young give the Fishermen reliable depth.
Gloucester opened the season by taking down two-time defending D4 state champion Manchester Essex 3-2 and are set to host defending D3 state champion Bedford on Wednesday in another tough test.

Boys' Track and Field
The boys’ spring track team is going into the season with high expectations to defend their NEC Lynch title.
Captains Jeferson do Carmo, Seamus Linehan, Lyall Cunningham, Gabe Pate, and Leo Cosentino are set to lead the way. With key contributors Gus Hall, Vincent Mannone, and Brendan Smith, the team is slated for another strong season on the track.
After dropping half of their season opener to Danvers, the boys look to bounce back against Winthrop and Masconomet on April 9th.
