For the second straight week, Olivia Madruga and Nolan Aiello have been selected as Student Athletes of the Week.

Olivia Madruga - Softball

Olivia Madruga proved how integral she is to the Fishermen lineup once again in the softball team's 7-0 win over Saugus.

The catcher went 4-4 at the plate, driving in 2 RBI in the effort. At the top of the first, her long-ball triple to right field gave Gloucester a 2-0 lead. She continued her hot day at the plate by singling in the 3rd, 5th, and 7th.

She also had a perfect fielding percentage behind the plate with 11 put-outs.

Madruga has been a game-changer for the Fishermen throughout the season, both at and behind the plate.

Nolan Aiello - Baseball

SAOTW Accolades: 1

Sophomore Nolan Aiello has been on fire as of late. The second baseman has played a key role on the varsity team for two years.

Aiello batted .444 last week with three RBIs and four runs, leading Gloucester to a 3-0 record in their last three games.

Aiello has become a key piece in the Fishermen’s success, which led to the team winning the NEC Conference while also holding a 15-1 record. Aiello’s fielding and play at the plate have made him a monster on the field.

Mackayla Allen - Softball

Mackayla Allen's efforts against Saugus were substantial for the Fishermen's 7-0 victory. The sophomore went 2-4 with a triple and a single, scoring one run.

Dylan Gaetano - Softball

Captain Dylan Gaetano had a perfect day at the plate in Gloucester's 7-0 victory over Saugus. The senior mashed a triple to the fence in her pinch AB.

Skye Ciolino - Track and Field

Skye Ciolino helped ensure the Track and Field team's win over Swampscott for the Lynch Division title. Ciolino won the 400 meters and was the anchor of the winning 4x400 girls' team.

Giacomo Martell - Baseball

POTW Accolades: 3

Giacomo Martell has dominated on the mound for the Fishermen, getting the save in their most recent game. Martell has also been solid at the plate, recording a few hits and RBIs.

Sam Sanfilippo - Lacrosse

Sam Sanfilippo is a key player on the GHS Lacrosse team.

Sanfilippo has grabbed the most ground balls on the team while also holding top spots for assists and goals. Sam has been grinding on the field this year for the Fishermen, successfully leading his team to multiple wins.

Jeferson DoCarmo - Track and Field

Jeferson DoCarmo was essential to the Track and Field team's victory in the Lynch Division Championship. DoCarmo won the 400-meter hurdles and took home second in the 800-meter.
