Parents and families attending Thursday’s “Meet the Teacher” night are invited to the first-of-the-year Family and Community Speaker Series event, co-sponsored with the Gloucester Health Department, at 5:00pm in the Gloucester High School Auditorium.
The event will feature author Devorah Heitner, who wrote the books Screenwise and Growing Up in Public, who will teach parents how to help their children navigate the social media world.
“Over the past few years, parents have talked with folks at GHS about the challenges they face with their children’s social media use and phone use,” Principal James Cook said. “Devorah Heitner has had a lot of success helping parents and students in this area, so we’re excited that she’ll be here on Thursday.”
Devorah will speak at 5:00p.m. and Meet the Teacher night will be at 6:00 p.m. The first 50 parents who show up will get a free copy of one of her books.
