During the last game, the Beverly student section held up a sign which read “Drown The Fisherman.” Quite the opposite happened on October 18th, when the Fishermen pounced on the Panthers in a 4-1 win. The goal scorers were Anna Cinelli (2 goals), Lily Pregent (1 goal), and captain Ella Costa (1 goal). Assists were made by Pregent along with captains Abby Lowthers and Ari Scola.

Both teams came out aggressive, with the Panther offense scoring in the first minute of the game. The Fishermen did not let that get them down, and responded with a goal to tie it in the second. The Gloucester forward line was hard throughout the game, resulting in multiple offensive corners.

The defensive midfield were crucial to their victory, with Joie Cody and Bella Goulart destroying the Panthers on the sides of the field. Anna Hafey launched the ball during free hits for the forward/offensive midfielder line, in which Lexi Carollo and Lowthers were aggressive at every ball. Emma Carrapichosa was strong on defense as well, along with Keagan Jewell’s usual secure goal-keeping.

Beverly was violent, often hacking at the ball or pushing the Fishermen. Gloucester was displeased by the referees calls, where they often called more penalties against the team. The Fishermen pushed through this, however, to come home victorious.

The team is placed 6th in Division 3, with Danvers close behind. Their record is 11-2-2 with a game against Malden Catholic on Friday for their senior night. Come down to Newell Stadium at 4:05-4:10 to support the girls!
