GHS field hockey has extended its shutout streak after a win against Beverly on Friday afternoon. The game ended with a final score of 2-0.

While Beverly dominated the first quarter of play, Gloucester came back strong to score two goals by the start of the second half.

Both goals were scored by senior captain, Rachel Alexander. The first assist came from fellow captain Samantha Cominelli, while the second one came from sophomore Tracy Wood.

This is goalie Jenna Taormina’s sixth straight shutout. Currently, she remains the only goalie in the Northeast Conference to not let in a goal.

Gloucester’s record has advanced to 5-0-1 while Beverly is now 2-2-1.

On Tuesday, Gloucester will be hosting Marblehead at 6:30 at Newell Stadium. Marblehead currently remains undefeated with a record of 8-0-0. The team will travel to Danvers on Thursday to play last year’s NEC champions.
