Students strut their stuff at Spring Showcase
May 16, 2018
Looking for something to do this Friday night? The GHS Theater program will be putting on a Spring Showcase.
The Spring Showcase will be happening Friday, May 16th in the auditorium. The doors will open at 6:30 PM and the show will start at 7:00 PM. It’s free to get into the show, but there is a $5 suggested donation.
If you choose to donate, it will go straight to the Theater program. All profits from this event will be put into the program to help improve it. If you aren’t able to pay the donation, your attendance and support at the show is still greatly appreciated.
“Marisa Alves, Kayla Saltonstall and I will be performing a song from Gypsy, and we’ll be singing the song “Together Wherever We Go,” said Benjamin Callahan, a member of the Theater program. “The Spring Showcase is basically us doing whatever we want on stage, the goal of it is to have fun. No one will be judging us so we are able to feel free on stage.”
The Spring Showcase is an event for people to show their talents that may not otherwise be seen. There will be acting, singing, dancing, and comedic performances. It will be held like a talent show, but there won’t be any scores at the end. It’s an open event for people to show something they can do that they’re proud of.
If you aren’t a senior and the Spring Showcase interests you, watch out for it next year. It’s an annual event, so it’s sure to happen again next year. You don’t have to be in the Theater program to perform at it, it’s open to everyone.
