After a 12 game winning streak, GHS Softball beat rival Revere on Wednesday and hopes to continue their battle to the top against Marblehead at GHS today.

With an overall record of 12-1, the Gloucester varsity softball team is in first place in the NEC South Division ahead of Danvers. The Peabody softball team is currently a threat to the Fisherman as they remain undefeated this season.

“We put in a lot of work at practice and we’ve really seen the pay off the past two weeks,” said Junior Captain Tracy Wood. “With 12 wins in a row, it’s important that we carry that momentum into our game today against Marblehead.”

Marblehead, a strong competitor, comes into the game with a 11-1 with their loss to Revere. This game will bring some heat as both teams are expected to move to the Division 2 North State Tournament.
