It’s time to cheer for the cheerleaders for winning NEC Grand Champs at the cheerleading competition hosted here in the GHS field house on Sunday, February 25th.

With fourteen cheerleaders on the mat and ten other teams competing, they had their eye on the prize.

“I am grateful that I am on a team that is so talented,” said GHS Senior and cheer captain Jillian Gross. “My team works so hard and it shows with our victories. We have a grand champion streak this season. We hope to keep the trend going.”

They have won first place in every competition so far for both seasons throughout the school year.

“This season has felt great so far with the team being undefeated Grand Champs,” said cheer coach Erica Mitchell. “We have been working very hard trying to get through small setbacks with injuries and illnesses and we are on the right track for bringing another state title back to Gloucester. We have a lot of work to do to reach our goal but this team has what it takes to win again.”

Their first place win granted them a spot to compete in the Regional competition on Sunday March 4th in Methuen, MA. Be sure to come and support them.
