Clean up day committee looking for volunteers

EDDIE MAHONEY, Staff Writer

Tired of seeing litter all around campus? Wondering what you can do about it?

Join Student Council and National Honor Society on Sunday, October 18th for clean up day.

These groups, and other volunteers, will be cleaning up the Gloucester High School campus, Stage Fort Park, and the elderly housing campus on Lincoln Street.

The head of the organization this year is GHS Italian teacher Rayanne Menery. It is her first year running the program.

“We are trying to do something to involve the kids and the community at Gloucester high school,” said Menery. “I don’t just want the National Honor Society kids to be there, I want to involve the entire community, and would love for anyone to show up.”

Other GHS faculty members will be attending the event. Teachers such as Celestino Basile, David Dipietro, and school resource officer Michael Scola will be there.

Everyone who would like to help make the community and Gloucester High School a better place, is invited to attend. NHS and student council will be meeting in the atrium at 9 a.m.

Menery, if the clean up day goes well she would like to have another one in the spring, but involve other programs like the environmental club.
