This Monday the Fisherman girls lacrosse team fell 17-4 to the Winthrop Vikings. Gloucester’s record dropped to 1-12.
The Fisherman started out strong and by the first half the score was 5-3 with Winthrop in the lead. With goals from Skye Berry, Kagan Jewel, and Meadow Anderson.
The second half Gloucester looked like they lost some energy and the score was 17-4 by the end of the game with a goal by Ivana Ferrara in the second half.
Gloucester had a lot of shots although Winthrop’s goalie saved most of them, Anderson had 6 shots and Jewel had 4.
Gloucester’s Julia Palk played well in the midfield replacing Berry when she was sent out of the game with two fouls. Natasha Depaula played well defensively and also made her way up their field whenever possible.
The second half of the game Abby Desmond replaced Gabriella Martell in net and both goalies played well.
The Fishermen play the Salem Witches this Friday at 6 in Salem.
