The Gloucester Girls’ Lacrosse team lost to the Salem Witches in a tough battle. Though the girls fought hard for the entire game, Gloucester ultimately 9-7 against the witches.
The Fishermen dished 26 shots, scoring 7 goals across the frame. Gloucester’s Skye Berry scored 6 out of the 7 goals, while Keagan Jewell scored the other.
Natasha DePaula, a sophomore and rising star on the team, played impressively on defense. Gloucester’s goalie, Gabriella Martell, was also a key player in the game. The goalie reacted quickly to Salem’s frequent shots.
“I feel like we put up a good fight,” sophomore Julia Palk said. “We kept it pretty close towards the end.”
Gloucester maintained possession for much of the second half. The girls fought hard to come back from being down 2-6 in the first half. Although it was ultimately a loss, the Fishermen fought a hard battle and demonstrated strong collaboration as a team.
