Racial equity inclusion club hosts Culture Celebration
November 17, 2022
Come on down to Gloucester High School Culture Night to appreciate and celebrate the many cultures here in Gloucester.
The Racial Equity and Inclusion club has put together a wonderful night to commemorate and remember the Native Americans, indigenous people and the many cultures that reside on the island. The team is creating a night where people from our community can come together and honor the people on this land and the different cultures that were brought together on this land.
Culture Celebration Night will feature many tables displaying the many cultures here in Gloucester. There will be various types of culturally diverse foods and beverages served. There will also be many games, and a DJ playing all types of cultural music to dance to.
“I am so excited to see the different mixes of cultures in my hometown, and to be able to share this night with everyone,” GHS senior Trinity O’Leary said.
Members of the Youth Peace Movement will also be stopping by.
This night is dedicated to honoring those who have lived here for generations, to bring light to the many who don’t feel seen, and to celebrate all of the different cultures that are connected to this land. They also want to show people the history, and the stories that this land holds. The goal of this event is to make everyone feel included in this community. All are welcome!
