GHS Baseball took down Beverly with a 4-2 win against the Panthers, on Friday.

To start the game Gloucester was quiet at the plate. During the third inning the offense began to come to life, as they put up 3 runs. Freshman Emerson Marshall stole home, then Junior Jack Costanzo scored the next run, and Junior Aidan Cornetta drove in two, one in the third inning and another in the seventh inning. Gloucester’s offense also highlighted their speed throughout the game, constantly stealing the bases.

The Fishermen defense had a terrific game. The outfield had plenty of great catches throughout the game. Junior Brett Moore threw a complete game, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 11.

Gloucester had a great week, winning two of their last three games. The team lost to Saugus 3-2 on Tuesday, and took down Swampscott 5-3 on Wednesday. After this week the Fisherman’s record is now 3-2.

Overall the Fishermen had an excellent game and great week. Gloucester will be playing only two games this week; away on Monday against Peabody Veterans Memorial High School and home on Friday against the Tanners.
