‘Stun gun’ leads to student arrest
November 7, 2014
A fifteen year old student was handcuffed and arrested for possessing an electric “stun gun” at GHS on Wednesday. The student was charged with possessing and carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds.
The teen was found acting suspicious near the field house bathrooms far from his appropriate classroom. Administration searched the student’s backpack, and found the weapon.
The school notified the student’s mother, and the teen was taken to juvenile court in Salem, MA. Teachers and students were not informed of the incident until the Gloucester Daily Times reported the story on Friday.

I’m relieved that nobody was harmed in this situation, but as a student I wish that we were told. Thankfully nobody was hurt but to have an incident like this occur and not be told about it makes me feel unsafe. The mandatory ID’s won’t protect us when there is a serious problem in the security of the school.
