O’Maley hosting third annual Sustainability Fair later this month

TownGreen2025, a company from GMT (Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation) will be hosting their third annual Sustainability Fair at O’Maley Innovation Middle School. It will be on Saturday, September 29th, 2018. The event takes place in the school’s commons from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Have you ever wondered how you can help protect the environment?

There will be plenty of opportunities to learn how at this year’s Sustainability Fair.

The event has many different exhibits and activities on renewable energy for attendees to interact with. Those attending will be able to participate in raffles from local businesses and have the chance to win prizes. Parking and attendance will be free. Food and drink will be available.

Featured speakers will be giving talks about environmental issues. Clean energy technology, carbon neutrality, locally relevant impacts of climate change and personal carbon footprint reduction will be among the discussed topics.

A dealership part of the Drive Green program from Mass Energy is bringing an electric vehicle that people with proper insurance will be able to drive. Two other companies: Change is Simple; a non-profit organization based in Beverly, and ReVision Energy; a solar energy company from North Andover, are bringing driveable cars as well as a mock charging station.

Along with electric cars, the main focuses will be; energy conservation, green energy solutions, sustainable food systems, recycling, and waste reduction.
