The GHS Varsity Hockey team played their first home scrimmage on Wednesday against the Wakefield Warriors. The Fishermen lost after a solid team effort with a score of 6-4.

The Fishermen started off the game with a goal in first period from senior captain Sal Costanzo and assisted by Ethan Brennan.

Wakefield Warrior Braeden Langlois tied the game up in the second period with a goal with 10:57 to play. Junior Chris Noyes, assisted by junior John John Mondello, and senior co-captain Liam Lyons put Gloucester back in the lead with a goal at 8:52. Lyons scored another goal shortly after.

The Fishermen fell to the Warriors in the third period. Gloucester’s Ryan Parisi found the net once in the third period. Braedon Langlois put three more goals in net for the Warriors, followed by two more scored by Anthony Forziati and PJ Lanuzzi.

“I thought the kids played well for 30 minutes,” said Gloucester’s coach Sean Lyons. “They became undisciplined with mental errors in the third.”

Gloucester’s home opener at Dorothy Talbot Rink will be held Wednesday, December 14th at 6:30pm.
