Next Thursday, the GHS staff will host a Bocce tournament fundraiser to benefit a GHS alum in need.
This is the 4th Bocce fundraiser by GHS staff and the competition is friendly but fierce. 40 people signed up to play the day of the announcement, and there are 64 players in the tournament.
“It’s an opportunity to get people together and help people in need,” GHS history teacher and event organizer Shaun Goulart said. “It’s a staff morale booster while raising money for a good cause.”
GHS science teacher Eric Leigh is currently the reigning champion from last year’s tournament.
“The Bocce tournament really highlights how strong the GHS community is,” said history teacher Jess Bean who will participate in the tournament. “It reflects the close-knit community of Gloucester.”
Those who don’t want to compete but still want to contribute can bring donations to Shaun Goulart in room 2214 or Rayanne Menery in 1213
