Last Wednesday, the Gloucester High School Wrestling Team fell to the Beverly Panthers in a duel meet.
Wins from the team came from Aiden DeCoste, Jayden Chadwick, Captain Morgan Pennimpede, and Anthony Murawski, who contributed to the nail-biting score early on.
The most anticipated match, however, came from Gloucester’s #1 ranked Captain Michael Toppan who faced Beverly’s #2 ranked Gino Sicari. Through a hard-fought battle, both scored points over the 3-period match but ended in a loss of 6 overall points for the Gloucester team.
Following the 190 match, Max Thomas and Captain Jayden Toppan pinned their opponents and scored the last 12 overall points for the team, ending the meet 43-33 for Beverly.
The Fishermen hosted the 2024 SuperQuad in the Fieldhouse last Saturday at 9:00am, and will host the Salem Witches this Tuesday at 7:00pm.
