Whether she’s throwing out runners or sparking rallies at the plate, Olivia Madruga continues to prove she’s one of Gloucester's most dependable players on the diamond.
The 2-year starter went 5-for-8 in Gloucester's two-game week, notching a team-leading six RBI in the effort. The sophomore went 3-4 in the Fishermen's 9-4 win over Masconomet, hitting two doubles and batting six runs in.
Behind the dish, Madruga continues to play with her usual fire. In the Fishermen's games against St.Mary's and Masco, she had a perfect fielding percentage with fourteen put-outs. She caught one runner stealing and had multiple good attempts throughout both games.
Among the Fishermen this season, Madruga is ranked 1st in hits (19), 1B (11), 3B (6), and RBI (16). The catcher is 2nd in average (.452), OBP (.511), OPS (1.296), and SLG (.786),
