On October 21st, students and alumni will join together at Newell stadium in support of the football team for the Fishermen first homecoming game in years.

Gloucester held unofficial homecomings many years ago, where students and alumni would attend the first home game and then a large bonfire afterwards. This came to an end when the fire department shut down the bonfire.

This year, Italian language teacher Rayanne Menery came up with the idea to bring homecoming back after discussing it with fellow alumni. Student council had the final vote.

“We’re going to start small this year to see how it goes,” said Menery. Alumni will be asked to rise in the stands when their class is called. There will be a celebration during half time as well.

At that time a king and queen, voted for by students, will come out. Ballots will be out and voting will be held this Thursday and Friday during lunch.
